Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- The Trump administration is canceling a contract with Moderna that was meant to help the company develop vaccines combating pandemic flu viruses.
The Biden administration awarded the company 176-million-dollars, and then an additional 590-million-dollars as bird flu spread among livestock and occasional farmworkers. However, a HHS spokesperson said “after a rigorous review, we concluded that continued investment in Moderna’s H5N1 mRNA vaccine was not scientifically or ethically justifiable.”
Moderna’s CEO says the company “will explore alternative paths forward for the program.”
