Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham City Council approved the appointment of Jacob Niebrugge to the City Council at their special meeting Tuesday.
Jacob will succeed Merv Gillenwater, who retired last month. Jacob took his oath of office and said he was humbled by the support he received to become a part of the Council. He was born and raised in Effingham, and said he is excited to get to work.
The Council also approved Larry Micenheimer to attend remotely, as he is recovering from surgery.
