Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Cucumbers are being recalled in connection to a multistate salmonella outbreak.
The CDC and FDA warned last week that cucumbers grown by Florida-based Bedner Growers and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales had been linked to more than two dozen illnesses across 15 states including California, Florida, Illinois and New York. Related recalls have been issued impacting products sold at stores including Walmart, Kroger, Roundy’s, and Weis Market. Officials say retailers should notify consumers who may have bought the tainted produce and if consumers don’t know the source of cucumbers, they should throw them away.
