
Louisville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Clay County Board met for their regular monthly meeting and filled a few different vacancies.
Ariane Souder was re-appointed to the 911 Board on a 3 year term, and Roger Deters was approved to fill the Farmland Assessment Review Committee, replacing retiring member Hugh Kessler. Mary Cisne also was appointed to the board to represent District G, as Chris Rinehart resigned. Also re-appointed was Larry Kuhns to the Edgewood Bi-County Fire Protection District.
The Board also heard from Jennifer Brown for the monthly 911 report, Bob Sellers with the hospital report, while also approving medical staff credentials for Clay County Hospital. Lynn Waller gave the Board of Health Report for the Clay County Health Department in Jeff Workman’s stead, and Kindal Easton, Supervisor of Assessments, reported that Harter Township is looking for a new assessor. The Intergovernmental Agreement with Harter Township was approved in the meantime.
Curtis Leib presented the probation report, Jason Abner, Deputy Sheriff, presented the Sheriff’s Report in Sheriff Andy Myers’ stead, and Vice Chair Barb McGrew gave the Chairman’s Report, as Joe Goodman was absent.
The Board also approved a resolution expressing opposition to HB 2827, the Home Schooling Bill.
Members absent from Tuesday’s meeting were Joe Goodman, Terry Woodrow, Rod Franklin, and Troy Leonard.
