Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- We have a couple chances for severe weather over the next couple days.
Today’s severe weather risk focuses east of I-55. Very large hail (potentially over 2 inches in diameter), damaging winds, and a few tornadoes are possible. Friday, there is an enhanced risk of severe weather near and south of I-70. With a volatile atmosphere in place, any severe weather that forms may be significant. In both cases, afternoon and evening are most favored for any severe weather.
Breezy and hot weather will be in place through the end of the week, with a risk for severe storms on both today and Friday. Drier and more seasonable weather returns for the weekend, with low chances for showers on Monday.
Keep an eye out for updates on this situation, especially if you have outdoor plans on either day.
