FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between
1 and 2 inches of rain has fallen past few hours and up to an
additional inch of rain is possible by 9 pm.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and southeast Illinois,
including the following counties, in central Illinois, Shelby. In
east central Illinois, Coles and Cumberland. In southeast
Illinois, Effingham.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 650 PM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
already occurring over parts of Altamont in western Effingham
county and Neoga in northwest Cumberland county.

Charleston, Mattoon, Effingham, Neoga, Toledo, Altamont,
Teutopolis, Watson, Stewardson, Cowden, Beecher City,
Herrick, Lerna, Shumway, Montrose, Heartville, Janesville,
Paradise, Woodbury and Strasburg.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
