Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The 708 Board met Wednesday and heard from Jodi Dart from the Association of Community Mental Health Authorities of Illinois (ACMHAI).
Jodi detailed the scope of ACMHAI, stating that they work with 708 Boards across the state. 80 of Illinois’ 102 counties have 708 Boards of some kind, and Jodi said they help fill the gap for people in need, especially those who are not eligible for Medicaid. ACMHAI works with colleges, and also helps with prevention services for mental health. ACMHAI was established through the Illinois Community Mental Health Act of 1972. The Board asked a few questions and ultimately, after a brief discussion, voted to join for this year to see what all it offers. The fee for the year is $500.
The 708 Board also discussed:
- Additional funding for Heartland Human Services for an audit
- Reviewed emails from each agency regarding billing rate
- Reviewed one & 3-year plans
The Board also approved the minutes from the last meeting after a few minor adjustments, and State’s Attorney Aaron Jones gave updates on the by-laws. He stated that the 708 Board is also commonly referred to as a Mental Health Board, and clarified some language to use for official purposes.
The next 708 Board meeting will be June 4th at 1pm.
