Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Wild Coast Raw LLC is voluntary recalling its raw pet food for cats due to possible bird flu contamination. Wild Coast Raw issued the recall on Saturday for its 16 and 24 ounce frozen boneless free range chicken formula raw pet food.
The product was distributed to pet food retailers in Washington and Oregon. The cat food is frozen in small round white plastic containers with a green label with a best buy date of December 25th. The Food and Drug Administration is warning pet owners who fed their pets the recalled product to watch for symptoms of bird flu including fever, sluggishness, low appetite, reddened or inflamed eyes and discharge from the eyes and nose.
Pet owners who notice these symptoms in their pets after feeding them the product should contact their veterinarian.
