
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On February 26, 2025 at approximately 11:00 am, the Effingham City Police Department responded to an apartment on W. St. Louis Ave. in Effingham Illinois reference a welfare check. Upon arrival officers discovered a female deceased in the apartment. The female was identified as Ada M. Stroup, age 85 of Effingham, Illinois.
The Coroner’s office was notified and responded to the scene. Next of kin in Newton, Illinois and Danville, Indiana were notified of her death.
Preliminary investigation indicated there was no trauma or injury and no foul play is suspected. The death appears to be of natural causes. Medical records were requested by the coroner’s office.
On March 1, 2025 at approximately 10:00 pm the Effingham City Police Department was contacted by two individuals at Flying J truck stop of an unresponsive female in a semi. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female deceased in the sleeper berth. The individual was identified as Alicia Tillery, age 44 of Chester, Pennsylvania. Officers at the scene advised the semi had been at the truck stop since Monday and the company sent the two drivers to pick up the semi. The vehicle was locked and had run out of fuel.
The Coroner’s office was notified and responded to the truck stop. There were no signs of trauma or injury to Alicia Tillery. There was no foul play suspected and the death appears to be natural causes. Medical records were requested from a Pennsylvania Medical Center.
Next of kin were notified in Chester, Pennsylvania. The family advised she has been an over the road truck driver since 2011.
