
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Lake Land College mascot Laker Louie will visit the Suzette Brumleve Effingham Public Library for a special story time at 1 p.m. March 7.
Join Louie in listening to “Cheers for Laker Louie,” written by Strasburg native and Lake Land College Director of Student Life Lisa Shumard-Shelton and illustrated by Business Adjunct Brett Sawyer. Children will enjoy hearing about how Laker Louie tries out for various Lake Land College athletic teams in the story.
“Cheers for Laker Louie” is a follow-up to “High Fives for Laker Louie,” which also was created by the team of Shumard-Shelton and Sawyer.
This is a book for younger children, but children of all ages, as well as Lakers fans and alumni are welcome. There is no registration for this event. A library card also is not necessary to attend.
