Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- The acting head of the Social Security Administration is stepping down. Michelle King was named to the position just last month after working for the agency for over 30 years.
It comes after King refused a request from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to access sensitive government records at her agency. A White House spokesperson laid out the plan for who will take over for King. He said President Trump nominated Fiserv CEO Frank Bisignano to lead the agency, but “In the meantime, the agency will be led by a career Social Security anti-fraud expert as the acting commissioner.”
