
Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis Board of Education held their regular meeting on Monday at 6pm in the Unit Office.
- The Board approved the Treasurer’s Reports and the Payment of Bills as presented.
- The Board approved the Consent Agenda Items as follows: Approval of Minutes from January 20 Regular Meeting; Set Tentative dates for THS Graduation – Sunday, May 18 and TJHS Promotion – Thursday, March 22, Approved Alternate Education Program Agreements with the Regional Office of Education #3 for 2025-26, Authorized the Superintendent to begin making preparations for the Tentative Budget for 2025-26, Authorized the posting of Summer Work Positions, Approved the Renewal of Content Filtering Software, Accepted the Jan 9, 2025 US District Court decision to vacate 2024 Title IX Policy and Revert back to previously approved 2020 board policy, Approved an updated Easement to the Village of Teutopolis for anticipated work on Oak Street adjacent to TGS, and Approved a THS Robotics Field Trip beyond 200 miles.
- The Board approved bid letting through the Upchurch Group for the THS Cafeteria and Unit Office reskin and THS/TJHS secure entries. Bid opening is scheduled to take place on March 11, with final approval consideration anticipated at the March 17 Board of Education meeting.

- Building Updates
- Superintendent Update –
-The annual obligation for Illinois schools to complete the 5Essentials survey begins on February 28 and runs through March 31;
-The April 2025 School Board Election Certification of Ballot provided by the county was reviewed and is posted on the district website;
-The annual requirement for publicly elected officials and members of boards is again due to the County Clerk’s office on May 1. The district has already submitted required names and anticipates mailers to members in the coming weeks;
-A preliminary 2025-26 calendar has been prepared, based largely on corresponding dates. Feedback from the admin/management team, TEA and the Superintendent Advisory group is anticipated over the next several weeks with final adoption anticipated at the March meeting;
-An upcoming IASB regional meeting in Newton on March 18 was announced;
-Official notification was received from ISBE indicating that Teutopolis was not selected as a recipient for the 2025 Property Tax Relief Grant due to limited state
funding. - New Business for Board Discussion – none
- The Board accepted the irrevocable letters of retirement from Carlene Rauch – Bus Driver and Connie Deters – TJHS Math Teacher, both effective upon the end of the 2024-25 academic year.
- The Board approved the requested reassignment of Haley Honselman from TGS/TJHS School Counselor to THS School Counselor effective for the 2025-26 academic year.
- The Board approved the seniority list for both certified and support personnel.
- The Board approved administrator, director and other non-union employment extensions and wages for the 2025-26 academic year.
The next Regular Meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 17, 2025 at 6pm.
