Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Nearly 500-thousand LG electric ovens have been recalled nationwide.
The recall was issued by LG Electronics and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after the ovens were linked to more than two dozen fires causing several injuries. The front-mounted knobs on the ovens can be turned accidentally resulting in at least 86 unintentional oven activations.
A total of eight injuries have been reported including burns and at least five of the fires caused property damage worth 340-thousand dollars. The LG ovens were sold at Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s and online at LG.com between 2015 and January 2025.
