
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Board met for their regular meeting Tuesday and recognized Cindy Deters with the Effingham County Health Department for 35 years with the department. She was given the recognition by Josh Douthit, County Board Chairman.
Courtney Yockey was also recognized for his role as Chairman with the Childcare Research Committee. Courtney said he wasn’t alone in making the Childcare Research Committee a success over the past two years, and he thanked the County Board for working with him and the Committee.
The Board also approved a $1k allocation to South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission so they can look into a $99k grant. It would be used for grants for local businesses.
The Board also:
- Approve Resolution – Increasing Percentage of Operating Costs Paid from Downstate Operating Assistance Program (65% to 75%)
- Approve Decennial Reports for Effingham Park District and Stewardson Fire Protection District
- Approve Appointment to 377 Board – Natalie Bailey (2/1/2025-1/31/2028)
- Approve Proposed Update to Flooring on 2nd and 3rd Floors of County Building
- Approve Updated Lease for Pre-Trial Services
- Approve Payment Correction from ARPA Funding to General Funding for F&C Concrete Invoices #231093 & #231094
- Approve Resolution – Personal Property Replacement Tax Distribution
- Approve 2025 Mileage Rate Increase as Recommended by Internal Revenue Service for Business Use
Josh Douthit also announced that roof work will begin soon on the Effingham County Cultural Center & Museum.
