BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was northbound on State Highway 37 about 1/4 mile south of 550th Avenue. The driver lost control of the vehicle on snow and ice and crossed into the southbound lane. The driver of Unit 2, who was travelling southbound when the sliding occurred, reacted by turning hard to the right. Unit 2 turned sideways into the southbound lane and struck a snow embankment, preventing the vehicle from getting out of the path of Unit 1. Unit 1 struck the driver’s side door of Unit 2.
TRANSPORTS:
- The driver and passenger of Unit 2 were taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospital by RuralMed EMS with incapacitating injuries.
