Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- President Biden will announce two-point-six-billion-dollars in funding to replace lead pipes across the country. It’s a part of a new EPA rule that requires lead pipes to be found and replaced within ten years with funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act.
The EPA said there’s an estimated nine million homes in the U.S. that contain lead pipes. Biden will make the announcement in Milwaukee, where the city has said it would cost around 700-million to remove all of its 65-thousand lead pipes across its metropolitan area.
