
Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- Inflation rose slightly as expected in April.
The personal consumption expenditures price index excluding food and energy increased two-tenths percent last month. On a yearly basis, the core PCE was up two-point-eight-percent from April 2023. When food and energy are included, the increase was two-point-seven-percent for the past 12 months.
The Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation reading was in line with forecasts. Personal income rose three-tenths percent for the month, also matching estimates.
