Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois (AFFI) formally announced their support and endorsement of Jim Acklin as a write-in candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 102nd District for the March 19th Primary Election.
The AFFI represents over 16,000 professional firefighters and paramedics in 230 communities across the state.
“Jim Acklin understands what it means to be a public servant. Acklin has served our communities in public education for over 40 years and knows the importance of public safety. As a school superintendent, Jim Acklin has worked hand in hand with first responders to ensure our children are always protected.” said Chuck Sullivan, President of the AFFI.
Jim Acklin is a life-long educator with over two decades as a teacher, a coach, a school superintendent, and a local government official.
“We know that Jim Acklin is supportive of issues affecting firefighters and paramedics throughout Illinois. Especially, when it comes to on-the-job safety, adequate wages and retirement security. Jim Acklin is the right choice for the voters in this district that support first responders because Jim will stand up for them in Springfield,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan also added that, “The AFFI looks forward to working with Acklin in the future. Both the AFFI and Jim Acklin place public safety and protecting our families on the top of their list.”
“The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois know that I will work to ensure that they have the resources necessary to keep our families safe when the time comes,” said Jim Acklin, a Republican candidate for state representative. Acklin added, “we depend on our first responders every single day and they need someone that they can depend on at the Capitol. I am thankful that they have placed their confidence in me, Jim Acklin, for state representative.”
Jim Acklin is running as a write-in for the Republican nomination in state house district 102. The district encompasses Champaign, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, and Vermillion counties.
