Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- An Effingham woman has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for aggravated cruelty to an animal.
Jasmine A. Meyer was sentenced on Tuesday to 3 years in prison for lighting a guinea pig on fire and posting video of the burning animal on Facebook back in February. She was also given a year of supervised release. She also was sentenced to 3 years for aggravated battery to a police and correctional officer.
Meyer pleaded guilty to burning the guinea pig back in August.
