Join us in congratulating the promotions of Sgt Scott Volpi and Lt Aaron Lange!
Sgt Volpi is a 23-year veteran with the Effingham Police Department. He has served in several positions including patrol, investigations, and SRO. Lt Lange is a 20-year veteran of the Effingham Police Department. He has served in several positions including patrol, investigations, and SRO.
Congratulations to both for their well-deserved promotions!
As for the City Council meeting, lots of discussion items were heard, with action expected in the near future.
An animal control shelter agreement with the City and County was heard, and a 10 year extension was ok’d to move forward. An intergovernmental agreement with 911 and the City and County was also heard. 911 will pay for the first year at the amount of $106k, the second at $110k, and the third year at $115k, which is a 4% increase per year. A new pump at Rollin Hills lift station was also informally approved in the amount of $38,800.
Director of Public Works Jeremy Heuerman also advised that the reconstruction of the intersection at Evergreen and Willenborg is wrapping up, stating that the project came in around $100k under budget. As a result, a culvert project that was originally scheduled as part of a future project was added to the end of this project. the cost will be $50k for the culvert.
