South Central FFA Members Participate In Forestry Career Development Event

Carlinville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Recently, six South Central FFA members have participated in the Forestry Career Development Event. This event requires participants to demonstrate skills and knowledge needed in forest management. The contest consisted of a general knowledge exam, map interpretation, tree identification, forestry tool identification, timber cruising, forest/tree disorders identification, and chainsaw parts/troubleshooting.

The event was held on Thursday, September 14th, at Carlinville, where South Central FFA placed 2nd overall. Wyatt Iler placed 1st individually and Hailey Shuler placed 3rd individually The South Central FFA Forestry team included Wyatt Iler, Kenzie Sullens, Chase Hassebrock, Izzy Hollowell, Amelia Montes, and Hailey Shuler.
