Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- More than one hundred state employees in Illinois are accused of PPP loan fraud.
The state’s Office of Executive Inspector General found at least 177 state employees who are suspected of defrauding the federal Paycheck Protection Program. The workers have been referred to the Illinois attorney general’s office for possible prosecution. Of those employees, 132 worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services.
