Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The 2022 real estate tax bills due and payable in 2023 are being mailed today, August 18, 2023 by the Effingham County Treasurer’s Office. The due date for the first installment is Friday, September 22nd and the second installment is Friday, November 3rd.
Payments options are as follows:
- Paid at most of the banks in the county
- Payment mailed to the Treasurer’s Office
- Paid in person at the Treasurer’s Office
- Paid online at co.effingham.il.us/treasurer. A credit card convenience fee will be added for payments made with a credit or debit card.
Effingham County Treasurer’s Office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The total number of bills mailed is 22,830.
The total amount of taxes extended for all taxing districts for the 2022 payable in 2023 tax year is $63,935,204.68.
The total amount of taxes extended for 2021 payable in 2022 tax year was $62,208,830.76. An overall increase of 2.775%
