Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- More than a dozen governors are calling on major pharmacies to clarify how they plan to protect access to abortion drugs like Mifepristone.
Members of the Reproductive Freedom Alliance took that action after Walgreens recently announced it would stop distributing medication for abortions in some states. The letter was sent to executives at CVS, Walmart, Rite-Aid, Safeway, Health Mart, Kroger, Costco, and Target.
Democratic Governors who signed on to the letter include California’s Gavin Newsom, Illinois’ JB Pritzker, Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer. Their letter also comes as the first hearing in a big case involving mifepristone is scheduled for today in Texas.
