Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Noon Rotary met on November 30th.
During their meeting, the Effingham Noon Rotary recapped projects undertaken during the second quarter of the 2022-2023 Rotary year.
They also discuss what projects should be pursued.
Among the discussion were service projects and the post-pandemic resumption of the Rotary student exchange program.
The Rotary student exchange program allows high school students from other nations to come to stay with local families for a school year and local students can enjoy opportunities in other nations.
At the meeting, Rotarians met with student guest, Ivan Daiber, a St Anthony High School Student.
Daiber is the son of Tim and Gena Daiber, of Vandalia.
His hobbies include reading and building 3D models.
Daiber received a first-place award in the Springfield Diocese in the Build a Church competition.
Rotary Noon President, Ashley Dillingham, brought guest Dr Ryan Jennings, the Chief Medical Officer of HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital to the November 16th meeting.
Dr Jennings spoke to Rotarians about polio, a fitting topic since the chief goal of Rotary worldwide is to eradicate polio.
