Carlinville Man Sentenced For Deadly Stabbing

Virden, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A Carlinville man who stabbed a Virden man to death last year is being sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Dalton M.K. Obermark received the sentence yesterday after pleading guilty to the murder of John Rennie. Authorities say Obermark stabbed Rennie multiple times and then took his car to travel to Florida.

Obermark relocated to Illinois after being released from prison in Florida in early 2021.
