Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- While gas prices are falling, it’s still a big expense for most people and scammers are looking to take advantage.
The Better Business Bureau says to watch out for fake gas cards being pushed over text messages, email and social media. The BBB says scammers are asking consumers for payment of a small fee, which should be considered a red flag.
Experts recommend taking time to research the company or brand associated with the giveaway or checking the website and social media to make sure a giveaway is actually being offered.
