- Effingham Police arrested 25 year old Crystal C. Bueker of Toledo for an Effingham County warrant for possession of <5g of meth. Crystal was taken to the Effingham County jail.
- Effingham Police arrested 35 year old Matthew D. Wallace of Marshall for an Edgar County warrant for contempt. Matthew posted bond and was released.
- Effingham Police arrested 56 year old Phillip K. Hodges of Effingham for DUI alcohol concentration in blood or breath over .08, DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving on a revoked license. Phillip was taken to the Effingham County jail.

April 8, 2022
- At 4:50 AM at 707 S. 3rd a vehicle driven by Levi C. Gast, 39, Effingham, ran off the roadway, struck a ditch and drove through the yard of 801 S. 3rd. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway, continued off the road, struck a concrete retaining wall, and came to rest in the front yard of 707 S. 3rd. Gast was ticketed for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with concentration of .08 or more, and Improper Lane Usage. No injuries.
