They don’t always come pretty but a win is a win and Altamont will take it, despite not being satisficed with a 22 point 60-38 win over Central A & M.
The Raiders record may not look the best but they gave Altamont all they could handle and some. The Indians came out slow and both teams came out physical. In fact A & M sent Altamont to the line in the 1 and 1 bonus in the first quarter and a couple players in foul trouble. Despite the slow start Altamont had the 12-9 lead after one quarter.
Unfortunately for Altamont they could not take advantage of the foul situation. At one point Coach Niebrugge wasn’t pleased with the starting five, as a line change made and those players played better for a stretch. A & M Brody Barnes would single handily keep the Raiders in the game, as he would score 10 in the second quarter alone. A & M were only able to cut into the deficit by one as it was 23-19 at the half.
Altamont would finally get it going after halftime, Mason Robinson made a couple of buckets then Jared Hammer hit a pair of threes and Noah Klimpel knocked down one as well. Altamont would go on to outscore A & M 22-9 in the third quarter to lead 44-28.
Altamont would finish off the Raiders in the final quarter with free throws from Eric Kollmann and couple of threes from Klimpel and fan favorite Bryce Suckow. Final score was Altamont victorious 60-38.
Altamont improves to 14-4 on the season and are back in NTC play traveling to Louisville to take on North Clay on Friday.
Central A & M falls to 1-14 on the season.
