Richland County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Two Unit Fatal Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- US Route 50 at 1900E, Richland County
WHEN:
- Sept. 18, 2021, at approximately 8:22 p.m.
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – 1996 Green GMC Sierra
- Unit 2 – 1997 Red Dodge Ram
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – 60-year-old female of Lawrenceville, IL (Deceased)
- Unit 2 – 32-year-old male of Noble, IL (Deceased)
PRELIMINARY:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on US Route 50 at 1900E. Unit 2 was traveling westbound at the same location. For unknown reasons Unit 1 crossed over the center line and struck Unit 2 head-on. Both drivers were pronounced deceased on scene. No further information is available at this time.
