Effingham County Jail

Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 40-year-old Dary Painter of Waltonville. Painter was arrested on a Effingham County warrant for theft. Painter was released after given a notice to appear.
Effingham Police Department arrested 60-year-old Jeffrey Diestelhorst of Neoga. Diestelhorst was arrested on a Fayette County failure to appear warrant on charges of theft. Diestelhorst was given a notice to appear by Fayette County and released.
Effingham Police Department arrested 39-year-old Wiliam J. Mason. Mason was arrested on 3 counts of unlawful possession of another’s debit/credit card, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mason was issued a notice to appear and released.
Effingham Police Department arrested 38-year-old Bradley R. Loy of Effingham. Loy was arrested on charges of assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Loy is still in custody.
Effingham Police Department arrested 31-year-old Matthew M. Rauch of Effingham. Rauch was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for aggravated battery to a peace officer.

At 10:35 A.M. at 1602 Damron Court an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by David Hardwick, Mattoon. No injuries and no citations at this time.

September 2, 2021

At 11:29 A.M. at 300 N. Maple an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Roberta Duckwitz, St. Elmo. No injuries and no citations at this time.

September 3, 2021

At 3:51 A.M. at 1736 S. Willow a vehicle driven by Faith M. Rogers-Sparks, 19, Newton, left the roadway and travelled down a ravine before striking a group of trees. Rogers-Sparks sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. No citations.
At 9:37 A.M. at the intersection of Keller and Temple a vehicle driven by Ronald G. Turner, 52, Watson, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Cynthia D. Elam, 60, Effingham. No injuries and no citations.

At 1:05 P.M. at 1204 Ave of Mid America a vehicle driven by Loretta M. Heischmidt, 73, Effingham, struck a vehicle driven by Jerry L. Kline, 69, Farina. No injuries and no citations.
