Cumberland County, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- Illinois Route 130 near Greenup, Cumberland County
WHEN:
- July 13, 2021 at approximately 8:34 a.m.
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – 2009 Blue Volvo Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer
- Unit 2 – 2021 White International Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – Reuben Diaz, 55-year-old male from Chicago, IL – Transported to an area hospital with injuries.
- Unit 2 – Michael D. Milton, 49-year-old male from Olive Hill, KY
PRELIMINARY:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 130 near Greenup. Unit 2 was traveling northbound at the same location. For unknown reasons, Unit 1 went off the roadway onto the right shoulder. The driver of Unit 1 over corrected and crossed back over the roadway to the left. Unit 1 struck the trailer of Unit 2 causing Unit 1 to overturn, blocking the roadway.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
