WHAT:
- Two Unit Traffic Crash with Injury
WHERE:
- Interstate 70 eastbound at Milepost 65, Vandalia Township, Fayette County.
WHEN:
- May 27, 2021, at 6:48 p.m.
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – Gray 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
- Unit 2 – White Hino Tow Truck
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – Tiffany R. Winterrowd, 35-year-old female from St Elmo, IL –Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
- Unit 2 – Henry K. Collins, a 27-year-old female from St Louis, MO – Refused medical attention.
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 and Unit 2 were traveling eastbound on Interstate 70, near Milepost 65. Unit 1 was directly behind Unit 2. Unit 2 slowed abruptly due to other traffic merging and Unit 1 rear-ended Unit 2. Unit 1 driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Unit 2 driver refused medical treatment. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
