Effingham County, IL -(Effingham Radio)-The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Traffic Crash With Injuries
WHERE:
- IL Route 33 at 1650th Street
WHEN:
- April 22nd at 4:16pm
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1– Blue 2006 Mazda 6L
- Unit 2- Gray 2011 Honda Element LX
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1- Rylea Jo Borgic, 16, of St. Marie, IL
- Unit 2- Connor A. Quick, 26, of Newton, IL
PRELIMINARY:
- *The accident investigation is still ongoing* A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 crossed the center of the roadway and struck Unit 2 head on while driving eastbound at the intersection of IL Route 33 and 1650th Street. It is not believed at this time that the intersection played a significant role in the accident. Quick had to be extricated from the vehicle by Teutopolis Fire Department and was flown from the scene by air evac to Carle Foundation Hospital.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
