Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Cromwell News Department recently sat down for a short phone interview with Tia Neither, who is an Staff Operations Specialist for the FBI. She wanted to do an interview for Black History month so she could talk about what challenges she faced trying to get her job there, and what she has learned as a result of that as well as advice for other people of color who may be looking into the field themselves.
You can listen to her answers here:
Question 1: What was your background before you joined the FBI, and what was it like?
Question 2: What did you learn there that you use at your new job?
Question 3: What challenges do you face at this job?
Question 4: What career advancement opportunities were available to you early on, and how were you able to take advantage of those opportunities to get to where you are now?
Question 5: Do you have any advice for someone looking into this field?
Question 6: Communication is important in a profession like this. Explain why communication is so important and what may happen if communication is lacking.
Question 7: Is there any part of your job that is not centered around technology use? Like going out in person or putting pen to paper instead of on a computer?
Question 8: Was there anything that you did in particular that you would want to pass along to anyone hoping to get a jump start in this field?
We at Cromwell Media thank Tia for taking the time to do this interview with us, and look forward to other opportunities to chat about her experiences.
