
Cumberland County, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Two Unit Traffic Crash with Injury
WHERE:
- Illinois Route 121 at 1000 North, Neoga, Cumberland County.
WHEN:
- Feb. 5, 2021 at 9:55 P.M.
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – Bronze 2004 Chevrolet Pickup
- Unit 2 – White 2019 Nissan Rouge
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – Jason Slifer, an 18-year-old male from Effingham, IL – Refused medical attention
- Unit 2 – Loretta Kingery, a 54-year-old female from Greenup, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PASSENGERS:
- Unit 1 – Christopher Blackwell, a 19-year-old male from Effingham, IL – Refused medical attention.
- Unit 2 – Michael Kingery, a 56-year-old male from Greenup, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling westbound on 1000 North at the intersection of Illinois Route 121 in Cumberland County. Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Illinois highway 121. Unit 1 continued through the intersection without stopping and Unit 2 struck Unit 1 in the passenger side door. The occupants of Unit 1 refused medical attention. The occupants of Unit 2 were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
