Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- From the Mattoon Police Department:
Mattoon Police arrested Kassandra L. Vaultonburg, 25 years of age of Mattoon, for an Active Coles County warrant for failing to appear on a 2020 theft case, as well as for a new charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The arrest occurred on 7/23/20 at 11:25am in the 900 block of Marshall Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 7/23/20 while in the 900 block of Marshall Ave, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Ms. Vaultonburg was a passenger in. Police arrested Ms. Vaultonburg for the warrant, and found her to be in possission of heroin. Ms. Vaultonburg was taken to the Coles County Jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Michael L. Willbanks, 47 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Fugitive from Justice. The arrest occurred on 7/23/20 at 8:59pm in the 2000 block of Richmond in Mattoon.
The charge alleges that on 7/23/20 police had contact with Mr. Willbanks, after he had contacted police for another matter. During the contact with Mr. Willbanks, police found him to be wanted out of the state of Missouri for failing to appear of a forgery case. Mr. Willbanks is held at the Coles County Jail on a Fugative from Justice charge until extradition can be arranged.

Mattoon Police arrested Joseph M. Morford, 41 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver.
The arrest occurred on 7/24/20 at 5:35am in the 1700 block of Moultrie Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 7/24/20 at approximately 5am, police did a well being check on Mr. Morford who was found sitting outside in a yard of a residence. Mr. Morford admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine, and individually bagged packages of methamphetamine were also located on his person. Mr. Morford was taken to the Coles County Jail.
