Springfield, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- Data from the Illinois Department of Public Health today shows 868 new cases of COVID-19 in the state of Illinois and 18 additional deaths. That brings the overall total to 145,750 cases of COVID-19 and 7,005 COVID-19 related deaths.
The total tests processed in the past 24 hours is 34,318—that means the daily positivity rate is 2.52%. That rate has stayed below 3%. The positivity rate is a key number to watch as the number of daily tests for the state has gone up significantly in the past few weeks.
