Single Vehicle Accident With Injuries

Liberty Township, IL -(Effingham Radio)-The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by the Effingham Police Department:

WHAT: 

• Single vehicle accident with injuries

WHERE:                  

• State Highway 33, 1/4 mile east of 600th ST – Liberty Township 

WHEN:

• 06/17/2020 at 4:57 am 

VEHICLES:

• Black 2005 Harley Davidson

DRIVERS:                 

• Unit 1 – Glen A. Aukamp 59, of Shumway

TRANSPORTS:

• Mr. Aukamp was taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital with incapacitating injuries.

PRELIMINARY:      

• Unit 1 was traveling east bound on State Highway 33. Unit 1 struck a deer that ran onto the roadway. Driver of Unit 1 was ejected from the motorcycle and skidded along the roadway. 

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
