Springfield, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- The state of Illinois has 623 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today and also reports an additional 72 COVID-19 related deaths. With today’s numbers, the state now has 133,639 cases and 6,398 total COVID-19 related deaths.
Another 18,729 tests were processed in state labs in the last day as the state shows a one-day positivity rate of 3.33%. Overall, the state has seen a total 1,228,341 tests processed during this pandemic as the state’s overall flat positivity rate has dropped to 10.88%, a change of 8.81% in the last 45 days. The Illinois Department of Public Health reports the preliminary 7-day rolling positivity rate as 3% for June 9-June 15.
Fayette County (22), Effingham County (8 cases), Bond County (12 cases), Shelby County (16 cases), Montgomery County (42 cases) and Marion County (55 cases) all remain unchanged today, reporting no new cases.
