
Springfield, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- The state has seen it lowest increase of COVID-19 cases since April 20 as the Illinois Department of Public Health reports 1,266 new positive cases of COVID-19 today as the state’s overall total is now 79,007 cases. IDPH also reports 54 additional deaths with the state’s overall total is now 3,459 COVID-19 related deaths.
The one-day positivity rate for Monday came in at 10.18% as there were 12,441 tests processed in the state on Sunday. There have now been 442,425 total tests processed with the state’s overall positivity rate now at 17.86%, a drop of 0.22% since yesterday’s report and the 10th day in a row that the positivity rate for the state has dropped.
Fayette County has no new cases today and remains at 17 confirmed positive cases with 2 deaths and 12 recoveries. FCHD lists the number of tests performed in the county as of today at 211.
Effingham County (6), Shelby County (10) and Montgomery County (34) number of cases all remain the same as they report no new cases today while Bond County (now 9 cases) has reported one additional case and Marion County (now 47 cases) has reported three additional cases.
