WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Injury Crash
WHERE:
- Interstate 70 E/B MP 68 Exit Ramp, Fayette County
WHEN:
- April 10, 2020, 6:41 AM
VEHICLES:
- UNIT 1 – Green, 1996 Chevrolet Suburban
- UNIT 2 – Red, 1996 Kenworth Truck Tractor
DRIVERS:
- UNIT 1 – Larry G. Osborne II, a 36 year old male from Collinsville, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
- UNIT 2 – Nathan J. Schmitt, a 38 year old male from Summerfield, IL – Refused medical attention.
CHARGES:
- UNIT 1 – Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash, No proof of Insurance, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
PRELIMINARY:
- Illinois State Police (ISP) District 12 Troopers responded to a two vehicle crash with injuries on Interstate 70 eastbound, on the exit ramp at mile post 68. Preliminary investigative details indicate that on April 10, 2020 at approximately 6:41 A.M. unit 1 was traveling Interstate 70 eastbound, on the exit ramp at mile post 68. Unit 2 was parked on the shoulder checking its load securement. For an unknown reason, unit 1 drove onto the right shoulder and struck the rear of unit 2. The driver of unit 1 was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
