Springfield, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- Friday’s daily update in confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state show an additional 1,465 cases and 68 deaths in the state. That brings the total number of cases to 17,887 total cases and 596 deaths.
As of Friday afternoon, 87,527 total tests have been performed in the state with just over 20% of those test being returned positive for COVID-19.
Two more counties, Fulton and Greene counties in western Illinois, have now reported cases. That brings to total counties in the state with cases to 83 out of 102 counties. 11 of the 19 counties without cases are located south of Interstate 70. Clay County remains the only county adjacent to Fayette that has not yet reported a case.
Fayette County remains at 7 confirmed cases on Friday while Bond County remained at 4 cases and Effingham County stayed at 3 cases. Montgomery County (8) and Marion County (12) each report an additional 2 cases in their counties and Clinton County has reported one more case to bring their total to 32 cases.
