WHAT:
- Motorcycle vs. Passenger Vehicle Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- US 150 @ Champaign County Road 125E
WHEN:
- Monday, March 30, 2020, 7:08 p.m.
VEHICLE:
- Unit 1: 2006 Harley Davidson
- Unit 2: 2013 Kia Sedan
DRIVER:
- Unit 1: Ryan Holt, 33-year-old male of Bloomington, IL
- Unit 2: Cedric Wilder, 24-year-old male of Mahomet, IL
PASSENGER:
- Unit 1: Jacklyn Sampos, 30-year-old female of Mansfield, IL
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: District 10 troopers responded to a traffic crash involving a motorcycle vs. passenger vehicle which occurred at the intersection of US 150 and County Road 125E in Champaign County. Unit 1 along with another Motorcycle Unit were traveling westbound on US 150 when they began to pass Unit 2 at the intersection. Unit 2 was initiating a left turn (south) onto County Road 125E when the first motorcycle passed Unit 2. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 as Unit 1 attempted to pass. The driver and passenger of Unit 1 were ejected from Unit 1. The driver and passenger of Unit 1 were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper passing at an intersection, and violation of driver’s license classification.
The public is reminded all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
