
Effingham, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- Governor JB Pritzker and IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike announced on Sunday that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 4,596 after the largest one day increase of 1,105 in reported confirmed cases since Saturday’s briefing.
It was also reported that there have been an additional 18 deaths from COVID-19 bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 65, including St. Clair County reporting its first death of a woman in her 70s.
Included in Sunday’s numbers are the first reported cases in Bond County and Montgomery County as well as Knox and Menard counties as 47 of Illinois’ 102 counties now have reported cases.
Fayette County remains at one confirmed case while St. Clair County now stands at 31 (up 13) and Madison is at 12 (up 2), Clinton County reported one additional case to now stand at 6. Christian County also stands at 6 confirmed cases after an increase of 5 since Saturday. Cumberland and Washington Counties remain at just one confirmed case each.
