Springfield, IL -(Mattoon Radio)- The gas tax hike of 2018 is starting to pay dividends in local road repairs.
In Quincy, city officials plan on spend more than one-point-eight million dollars on road work this year. All of those repairs will be paid for by the Motor Fuel Tax from the upcoming fiscal year.
The city engineer’s office says that fund has nearly doubled thanks to Governor Pritzker’s gas tax increase.
