Philadelphia, PA -(Effingham Radio)- Officials are blowing the final whistle on the Arena Football League. The organization announced it has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and is fully ceasing operations. This comes just one month after the AFL announced it was shutting down all six teams, but had hoped to find a way forward.
The Arena Football League was founded in 1987, and despite success at times, has dealt with its share of financial difficulties. In a statement, Commissioner Randall Boe said they “simply weren’t able to raise the capital necessary to grow the League.”
