
MATTOON, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following has been released by the Mattoon Police Department.
March 29, 2019
- Mattoon Police arrested Janilane T. Richey, 27 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine. The arrest occurred on 3/29/2019 at 2:02am in the 600 block of Charleston Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 3/29/2019 while in the 600 block of Charleston Ave in Mattoon, police had contact with Ms. Richey, at which time she had possession of methamphetamine. Ms. Richey was taken to the Coles County Jail.
- Mattoon Police arrested Latonya Casas, 38 years of age originally of Arlington Heights, IL, for the offenses of Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing Identification. The arrest occurred on 3/29/2019 at 10:20pm in the 500 block of N. 22nd Street in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 3/29/19 while in the 500 block of N. 21st Street and during a neighborhood dispute, Ms. Casas used profanity while yelling towards neighbors. Ms. Casas was arrested, and during the booking process, she refused to cooperate. Ms. Casas was taken to the Coles County Jail.
March 30, 2019
- Mattoon Police arrested Steven P. Chapman, 52 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Domestic Battery. The arrest occurred on 3/30/2019 at 1:15am in the 1200 block of Richmond Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 3/30/2019 while in the 1200 block of Richmond Ave, and during a domestic disturbance, Mr. Chapman struck a female in the foot with a table while knocking it over. Mr. Chapman was taken o the Coles County Jail.
- Mattoon Police arrested John R. Creager, 52 years of age of Lerna, IL, for the offense of Criminal Damage to Property. The arrest occurred on 3/30/2019 at 6:35pm in the 600 block of Oklahoma Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 3/30/2019 while in the 1300 block of S. 6th Street, Mr. Creager punched and broke a window to a residence during a dispute over drugs. Mr. Creager was taken to the Coles County Jail.
March 31, 2019
- Mattoon Police arrested Dillon B. Sanders, 30 years of age of Mattoon, for the offenses of Criminal Trespass to Residence and Obstructing and Resisting a Police Officer. The arrest occurred on 3/31/2019 at 10:57am in the 1600 block of Shelby Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 3/31/19 while in the 1600 block of Shelby Ave in Mattoon, Mr. Sanders refused to leave a residence at the request of the home owner. During Mr. Sanders arrest for failing to leave the residence, he resisted officers efforts to handcuff him. Mr. Sanders was taken to the Coles County Jail.
