- At 10:40 a.m. at 1502 E. Fayette Avenue a vehicle driven by Velvet L. Kaiser, 54, Edgewood, IL, stopped in traffic on Fayette Avenue attempting to turn into Catholic Charities and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Cassidy T. Dunn, 17, Effingham, IL. Kaiser was taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital by EMS. Dunn was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

- At 2:14 p.m. at W. Eiche Avenue & S. Banker Street a vehicle driven by Jeffrey J. Weaver, 44, Effingham, backed from Southtown Car Wash onto Eiche and was struck in the rear passenger side by a vehicle which was backing out of Discount Tobacco Shop. The vehicle, described as being a newer model Bronze color Chevrolet Silverado, left the scene and traveled southbound on Banker Street. No injuries. No citations.

- At 3:55 p.m. at 1700 S. Banker Street a vehicle driven by Everett E. Elledge, 34, Louisville, IL, was backing through the parking lot and struck an Ameren utility pole. No injuries. No citations.

- At 10:41 a.m. at W. Fayette Avenue & S. Henrietta Street a vehicle driven by Marlene L. McWhorter, 71, Effingham, was stopped in traffic westbound on Fayette Avenue and was struck from behind by a vehicle being driven by Thomas C. Weitzel, 68, Springfield, IL. No injuries. No citations
- At 6:08 p.m. at 209 S. Merchant Street a vehicle driven by Amanda C. Kemme, 26, Shumway, was traveling west in the IGA parking. Kemme swerved to miss a vehicle traveling into her path and struck a utility pole. No injuries. No citations.
