LOUISVILLE, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following has been released by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office:
December 15, 2018
- the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle accident at 10:03 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and Kinmundy Road in Louisville. Apparently Thomas H. Carpenter, 58, Louisville, operating a 2007 Buick was travelling north on U.S. Route 45, when a 2007 Ford Explorer operated by Floretta Hilderbrand, 83, Louisville, entered the roadway and struck the Carpenter vehicle. No injuries reported.
- Tommy J. Corry, 66, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Aggravated Assault. Corry was also charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Total bond set at $50,000.00(10%). He posted bond and was released.
December 16, 2018
- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy cited Michael Lister, 32, Clay City, for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
December 17, 2018
- Aimie M. Onkle, 37, St. Louis, Missouri, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Petition to Revoke Probation on the original charges of Possession of Burglary Tools (Accountability) and Theft from Coin-Operated Machine(Accountability). Bond set at $15,000.00 (10%). She posted bond and was released.
December 19, 2018
- the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy 50 and N. Olive Street. Apparently Michael Genthe, 63, Flora, operating a 2014 Jeep was travelling west on Rt. 50, slowed to turn south onto N. Olive street and was struck by a 2009 Saturn, also travelling west, operated by a 16 year old from Xenia. No injuries reported.
- David B. Koch, 45, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft. Bond set at $50,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
December 20, 2018
- Aleasha Moore, 38, Centralia, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver’s License Suspended. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Ronald McConnell, 48, Edgewood, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Driving While Driver’s License Revoked. Bond set in the amount of $10,000.00 (10%). He posted bond and was released.

- Michael Vaughan, 50, Fairfield, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Felony Driving While License Revoked. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Harry Strange, 31, Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While License Revoked. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
- Carl N. Gill, 48, Cisne, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Contempt of Court. Bond set at $100.00 cash. He posted bond and was released.

the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle accident at 10:55 a.m. at 8113 Old Hwy 50. Apparently Lela Meagher, 63, Flora, operating a 2013 Ford Explorer had slowed in traffic and was struck by a 2009 Chevrolet operated by a 17 year old from Xenia. No injuries reported.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Kaleb Hohlt, 31, Fairfield, for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
January 3, 2019
- the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle accident at 9:17 p.m. south of intersection of Blue Mound Road and Blue Ash. Apparently Carla Speagle, 45, Rinard, operating a 2004 Cadillac, ran off the roadway and entered the ditch. Speagle then left the area. She was cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and given a Notice to Appear.
- the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 3:37 p.m. at the parking lot of Xenia Manufacturing in Xenia. Apparently Heather Ross, 30, Flora, operating a 2012 Jeep Wrangler was backing from a parking spot and struck a 2007 Pontiac operated by Linda Shehorn, 53, Kinmundy. No injuries reported.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy cited Brandon Edgington, 20, Clay City, for Driving While Driver’s License Suspended. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.

- Justin L. Persinger, 29, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County Contempt warrant. Bond set at $150.00 cash. He posted bond and was released.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Darrell Newman, 29, Clay City, on an outstanding Clay County Contempt warrant. Bond set at $150.00 cash. He posted bond and was released.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Matthew J. Kelledes, 32, Xenia, for Interference with the Reporting of Domestic Violence. Bond set at $1,500.00 (10%). He posted bond and was released.
- the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 1:10 p.m. north of the intersection of Big Four Road and Iron Mountain Road. Apparently Andrew Bangert, 32, Clay City, operating a 2004 Freightliner Tractor, travelling south, had stopped off of the roadway to retrieve fallen object, Tammy L. Kifer, 46, Mt. Erie, stopped to assist Bangert, when a 2000 Dodge Stratus, operated by Florence Smith, 81, Clay City, collided with the Kifer vehicle. Minor injuries reported.
